Ivyclan Stream
The Ivyclan Stream. Here warriors of Ivyclan come to hunt and show off their great fishing skills with large pieces of prey.
Things to hunt:
Minnow- The most common form of fish when hunting in streams. Although they are small, they still can make a small snack in between meals. They dart a lot and are very fast, so work on your reflexes when hunting them!
Water Vole- These small mouse like creatures in the rodent family are similar to regular voles, you just find them near water a lot more. They're easy to catch, you just need to work on your pouncing skills before looking for some.
Catfish- These fish can be sometimes very large. They are not recommended to catch for your safety, but are not forbidden. They make a great, tasty meal and almost always satisfy the clan. Use this tasty fish to get on the good sides of the elders. They are very vicious, so remember to have a cat aid you in killing it when you get it on land.
Trout- Another common fish to hunt in streams. They are almost the same size as minnows, and are a tasty snack for when you're not too hungry.
Frog- Slimy yet satisfying, this treat is fairly good but still a great addition to the fresh-kill pile. They're pretty easy to catch, so get the opportunity to catch one whenever it comes in sight.
Salamander- This slippery lizard like creature may be small and seem dissatisfying, but this scaly snack is a great alternate to frogs.
What not to catch:
Cray Fish- These little, sometimes big crab like shell fishes will do major damage on your paws if you get too close. They are defensive of their territory and don't seem to like cats to much. Don't be surprised if you come back to camp with a broken paw if you try to hunt these feisty creatures.
Crabs- Similar to Cray Fish, these types of shell fish have pincers that can snap you're paw right off or in half. They have crazy reflexes that make them almost impossible to catch.
Sharks- WARNING- DO NOT TRY TO CATCH SHARKS. THEY WILL SWALLOW YOU WHOLE AND YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY AGAIN.

Re: Ivyclan Stream
Sunblaze leaps out of the bush, glancing around momentarily. then smiling as the bush lead him to exactly where he wanted to go. "Her we go." He smiles and sniffs the salty stream water, smiling to himself. "This is the Ivyclan Stream. It's one of the main sources of food for us." He sits near the edge of the water, flexing his long, sharpened claws, digging them into the muddy ground on the bank of the Stream.
Eager to catch a fish, he watched the small minnows swim by, hoping to catch something larger. Silently, he watched a water vole at the other side, sit on a large, flat surfaced rock. "There's my target," he whispered. Softly, he padded over to the vole. softly, he crept behind the vole then... WHAM!
He pounced the vole head on and dug his claws into it's fur. Finishing it off with a bite and twist to the neck, he picked it up as it hang limp in his jaws. Padding back over, he placed the vole down beside the bank and licked a piece of the vole's flesh off of his claws.

Feather looks at the vole in amazement. "Well, that was pretty impressive. I'm pretty sure I could only manage catching a fish or two." She laughs slightly then pads up closer to the stream. She slowly slips her paw in the clam water, waiting for a trout or another fish to swim up to her paw. Watching a trout examine her paw she quickly hooks her claws on the fish and flings it out of the water. Rushing over to the fish before it flops back in the water she bites down on its spine braking so the fish wouldn't move anymore.

He nods and laughs, as he loves to watch other cats hunt. "Wow. I never knew of that technique!" He replays the scene a few times in his head, memorizing the moves virtually. Smiling at her, he grabbed the vole by the neck and glanced at her trout. The fat brown lump of a creature hung and shook limply in his jaws as he trotted over to her.
"Would you like to get back to camp and set these down or do you want to try hunting something else," He asked her muffled. The thick brown fur of the prey caused his voice to only escape partially, causing his words to appear muffled. However his eyes large, gleaming green were fully visible, looking at Featherheart. There was a small smile on his muzzle, but it wasn't quite visible underneath the prey.

She thinks for a moment. "How about we head back to camp." She smiles and picks up her trout.

Enchantedlights let out a yawn as she walked towards the stream. She glanced backwards to make sure that Sunblaze was following her, her tail brushing gently against the ground.

Sunblaze was close behind, as he soon reaches the stream as well. Scooping up some nearby moss, he pressed it in the shallow water of the stream and pressed it on his wounded tail, before re wrapping the cobwebs. Wincing, when he was all finished he stood and padded over to a tree, brushing his fur on it. He began rubbing himself against trees, signalling the Ivyclan scent.
Re: Ivyclan Stream
Enchantedlights leaned in towards the stream and took a drink from it. She withdrew her head form the water, and glanced over towards Sunblaze. "Are you okay?" she asked him in a soft voice, a hint of concern flickering in her voice.

He looked towards her, smiling. "Oh yeah... I was just attacked by a badger earlier." He said with a small frown. "Little piece of foxdung bit me," He growled while rubbing himself on a pine tree.
Re: Ivyclan Stream
"Ooh," she replied, starting to feel a little more comfortable. A grin crossed her face. "Are you up for a contest?" she raised an eyebrow at him, an excited look in her eyes.

Re: Ivyclan Stream
He finished rubbing another tree and padded over to her, sitting down. "Yeah, sure. As long as it's fun." He said with a toothy grin. "What is it about?" He asked while curling his tail around his paws.
Re: Ivyclan Stream
Enchantedlights let out a happy purr. "It'll be a fishing contest!" she attempted to mimic his toothy grin. "Whoever catches the most fish wins!" she leaned a bit closer to the stream, ready at any moment to leap into the water.

Re: Ivyclan Stream
Sunblaze's toothy grin curled into a devious smile within seconds. He is known for his amazing hunting skills, in water and on land. "Okay," He said while padding over to the stream. He tried a move he had learned from a cat earlier. Sticking his paw in, he waited for a fish to swim by it. There came two minnows. Concentrating, he clawed them both out of the water and threw them onto the muddy river bank, biting into their hard scales, finishing them off.
He also had a small flare for hunting. For some reason it got him so excited, and most times he hunted until he couldn't stop. That's why most of the time the fresh-kill pile is overflowing with fresh rich prey. He immediately sprinted back to the stream, repeating the action. He completely forgot his tail was ever in pain by now.

Enchantedlights watched him with a look of awe. She shook it off, and glanced over at the stream. She spotted a small trout. Its better than nothing.. she thought to herself. She reached her paw into the cool water and fished it out, barely managing to catch it. She heaved it ashore, and quickly killed it with a bite to the neck.

Re: Ivyclan Stream
Sunblaze spotted a catfish, a pretty small one, but it was something. He raised his eyebrows at the fish and kept his paw still in the water. He accidentally moved his paw and it began to dart away. Through reflexes, he snapped his muzzle in the water and found the middle sized fish struggling in his jaws. Snapping it's neck through brute mouth force alone, he placed it next to the four other minnows and looked at his five pieces of fresh kill.
He glanced at her then back at his fish.
He glanced at her then back at his fish.
Re: Ivyclan Stream
Enchantedlights' face turned a bright crimson red. Without hesitating, she reached into the water and swatted at a fish in an attempt to catch up. It swerved away from her paw, which was clumsily swatting at the water. She let her paw slow, and she lifted it out of the water until only the tip was in the water. She spotted a frog, sitting over towards one of the cobblestones that was nestled in the bank of the stream. She slowly crept towards it, dropping into her hunter's crouch. When she was about a tail-length away, and sprung off of her haunches and landed on the frog. Her claws dug into it's back, preventing it from moving. She killed it with a swift bite to the neck.

He watched her quietly. "Are you okay..." He asked as he saw her face turn red. His eyes were wide with surprise and his ears were flat against his head. "Did I do something wrong?" He asked quietly.
Re: Ivyclan Stream
Enchantedlights bounded back over towards him a smile plastered to her face. "Everything's fine! Its just that you're winning!" she playfully cuffed him over the ear, and rested the frog over near the trout she had caught.

"Oh," He said smiling. "Well it's just that," He started, "Hunting is so... fun for me. It's a flare. Once I start I can't stop myself. It's... It's my thing." He said quietly, blushing.
Re: Ivyclan Stream
Enchantedlights let out a purr. "I suck at hunting, so... Lucky you!" she meowed, a bit teasingly. She brushed him gently with her tail. "Do you want to do some more hunting, or go back to camp?" she asked him in a soft voice.

Re: Ivyclan Stream
He smiled and pawed one of her ears. "Sure. We should get back to camp." He said, smiling. Once again having a crooked grin on his face he picked up the four trouts. "Hey can you grab the other one," He mumbled through the scales. "My mouth is a bit full."
Re: Ivyclan Stream
Enchantedlights let out a giggle. "S-sure!" she meowed through her laughter, grabbing the two trouts and the frog that she had caught. A purr rumbled in her throat. The taste of fish was filling her jaws as she started to pad over towards the direction of the camp, slowly walking so that Sunblaze wouldn't fall too far behind.
