Vole's Den

A small cave, where a loner named Vole lives.

Vole opened his green tinted yellow eyes, squinting to adjust to the light. He parted his jaws in a yawn, then padded out of his small cave. Sitting down, he flattened some stuck up fur. The brown tabby sighed as he glanced around boredly.

A young cat wobbles by. His ribs show through his thin fur and his ears are flattened against his head. He notices the stream. His eyes glint with sadness as he wobbles over to the water. Looking in the water, he stares at the mess of himself. His pelt is ridden with dirt and grime. Too tired and hungry to hunt, he takes a few sips from the water, not noticing the cave behind him. Lying down, he groans and closes his eyes, listening to the gentle splash of the water on the rocks.
